It has been a long time since I’ve witnessed a candidate’s market. In the 1990s, the term "the war for talent" was coined by the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. Back then, the candidate landscape was parched, and companies struggled to find people for crucial jobs. Today, as Curt Steinhorst, author of articles about why millions are quitting their jobs notes, one thing is clear: companies are struggling again to find talent.
This begs the question for all of those who are looking for jobs, “If it is a candidate’s market, do I need to hire a résumé writer or a career coach?”
